Key Features

  • Clamping stroke of 375 mm and 900 mm daylight opening for PET preform and jar moulds 200 to 525 mm thick
  • Two screw options: the 40 mm screw reaches 2,250 kg/cm² injection pressure and the 45 mm screw gives shots up to 315 g (PS)
  • Tie-bar space of 480 × 424 mm and platens of 725 × 650 mm, to fit preform and jar moulds
  • Hydraulic ejector with 110 mm stroke and 7.5 tons force for preform and jar ejection
  • Heating capacity of 12.5 kW, servo motor of 19.3 kW and total connected load of 31.8 kW
  • Optional hopper dryer / loader and robot unit for PET drying and part handling

Applications

The PET 180 Ton is used for heavier preforms and larger preform moulds, before moving to the 220 Ton and 260 Ton models. Very high cavity preform production also depends on the mould, hot runner and post-mould cooling, so discuss these with our engineers when sizing the machine.

  • Higher-cavity preform moulds for water and beverage bottles

  • Edible oil bottle preforms

  • Wide-mouth jar preforms for food and dry goods

  • Thick-wall PETG cosmetic jar shells

  • Glass-filled PET technical parts

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often about the PET 180 Ton, before a specification is agreed.

  • What Is the PET 180 Ton Injection Moulding Machine?
It is a horizontal injection moulding machine from Pratishna Engineers for PET raw material, based on the E Series 180 Ton and built for heavier preforms, large jar preforms and higher-cavity moulds.
  • What PET Products Can I Mould on a 180 Ton Machine?
Typical PET work includes heavier preforms for large-volume bottles and jars, higher-cavity water and beverage bottle preforms, edible oil bottle preforms and wide-mouth jar preforms.
  • How Do I Know if 180 Ton Is Enough for My Preform or PET Part?
Required clamping force depends on the projected area of all cavities, injection pressure and material, with a safety factor. For preform moulds, mould height, cavity pitch and hot runner size within the tie-bar space often decide the machine as much as clamping force. Share your preform or part drawing and mould details and Pratishna Engineers will confirm whether the PET 180 Ton is suitable.
  • What Are the Screw Options on the PET 180 Ton?
The PET 180 Ton is available with two screws: the 40 mm screw gives a 249 g shot at up to 2,250 kg/cm²; the 45 mm screw gives a 315 g shot at up to 1,778 kg/cm². Clamping, ejector and general specifications are common to all screw options. Shot weights are given for PS. PET is denser in the melt, so the same swept volume gives a heavier PET shot; the PET shot weight and the screw and barrel configuration for PET are confirmed for each enquiry.
  • Why Must PET Be Dried Before Moulding?
PET absorbs moisture from the air. Moisture left in the granules breaks down the polymer in the barrel, lowering its intrinsic viscosity (IV) and giving brittle or hazy parts. PET is normally dried in a dehumidifying dryer to below about 50 ppm moisture before moulding, following the resin supplier’s drying conditions. A hopper dryer and loader is available as an optional feature.
  • What Mould Size Fits the PET 180 Ton?
The PET 180 Ton takes moulds 200 to 525 mm thick within a tie-bar space of 480 × 424 mm, on platens of 725 × 650 mm, with a 900 mm daylight opening.
  • If 180 Ton Is Not the Right Size, What Other Options Are There?
The PET range also offers 75 Ton, 100 Ton, 125 Ton, 150 Ton, 220 Ton and 260 Ton models. For other plastics, the same machine is available as the 180 Ton Horizontal Injection Moulding Machine (E Series).
  • Does Pratishna Provide Installation and After-Sales Support?
Yes. Installation, commissioning, operator training, spare parts and after-sales technical support are provided as part of Pratishna’s machine lifecycle services.
  • How Do I Get a Price for the PET 180 Ton?
Share your preform or part drawing, PET grade, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities, hot runner details, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will evaluate the configuration and provide a quotation.
