Injection Moulding Machine Manufacturer — Andheri East, Mumbai, India

Injection-moulded cosmetics & personal care components

Injection Moulding Machines for Cosmetics & Personal Care Products

Pratishna Engineers designs and manufactures injection moulding machines that are used to produce plastic cosmetic packaging and personal care products. Typical parts include compact cases, lipstick cases, cream jars, bottle caps, pump components, combs, hair clips and toothbrush handles, where a flawless visible surface and accurate fits between mating parts decide the reject rate.

Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for cosmetics and personal care products in India. Headquartered in Mumbai, Pratishna has 35+ years of experience and more than 9,000 machines supplied to over 1,000 customers, offering horizontal, hybrid and vertical machines for cosmetic packaging, hair care and oral care parts, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.

The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Cosmetic parts are judged on the A-surface: gate marks, flow lines, sink marks and colour shifts are all rejects. Lipstick mechanisms, pump parts and roll-on seats also depend on tight shrinkage control, so stable melt and mould temperatures and repeatable injection matter as much as tonnage.

Recommended Machines for Cosmetics & Personal Care Components

Most cosmetic and personal care parts, such as lipstick cases, cream jars, combs, hair clips and stick containers, suit the E Series (75-180 T). High-cavity bottle caps and flip-tops suit the C Series, while thick-wall acrylic jar shells and salon appliance housings may need the H Series. Precision parts such as pump components, compact cases and mascara wipers suit the Hybrid machines for repeatable injection, and makeup brush handles moulded around a metal ferrule suit the Vertical machines. Two-shot parts such as toothbrush handles with soft grips are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often about moulding cosmetic and personal care products.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for Lipstick Cases and Compacts?
Lipstick cases and compact cases are small to medium parts, often moulded in 4 or more cavities. A machine is selected by projected area, cavities, shot weight and material. Outer sleeves and bases usually run on E Series machines, while compacts with thin lids and tight hinge fits benefit from the repeatable injection of Hybrid machines.
  • Can Pratishna Machines Produce Cosmetic Caps and Closures?
Yes. Screw caps, flip-tops and disc-tops in PP or HDPE are high-volume parts run in 16 to 48 cavity moulds, usually with a hot runner. Thin walls and fast fill need high injection pressure and a matching clamp margin, which the C Series is built for.
  • What Plastic Materials Are Used for Cosmetic and Personal Care Parts?
Common materials include PP and HDPE for caps and containers, ABS and SAN for cosmetic outer parts, PMMA, SAN and PETG for clear or thick-wall jars, POM for lipstick mechanisms, pump members and hinges, and TPE for soft grips. PCR grades of PP and ABS are also used for sustainable packaging.
  • Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Thick-Wall Acrylic Jars and Appliance Housings?
It depends on part size, wall thickness and projected area. Thick-wall acrylic jar shells and hair dryer or straightener housings usually need H Series machines. Acrylic jars are cooling-limited, with long hold times to avoid sinks and voids.
  • Can These Machines Produce Combs, Hair Clips and Hair Brushes?
Yes. Combs, claw clips, snap clips, headbands and hair brush bases in PP, ABS, POM or nylon can be moulded; the machine is selected based on part length, cavities and volume. Combs are limited by flow into thin teeth, and clips are made in 8 to 32 cavity moulds.
  • How Do You Get a Defect-Free Cosmetic Surface?
A cosmetic surface needs a high-polish mould, a hidden gate position, dried material (especially PMMA and ABS) and stable melt and mould temperatures from shot to shot. Colour consistency also depends on accurate masterbatch dosing and a screw that mixes well.
  • Which Pratishna Series Suits Cosmetics & Personal Care Applications?
The E Series (75-180 T) suits most parts, the C Series suits high-cavity caps, and the H Series covers thick-wall jars and appliance housings. Hybrid machines suit pump and compact parts, Vertical machines suit insert-moulded brush handles, and two-shot parts are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.
  • How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Cosmetic Product?
Share your product, material, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine and quotation.
