Injection Moulding Machines for Electrical & Electronics Products
Pratishna Engineers manufactures injection moulding machines that produce plastic parts for electrical switchgear, wiring devices, power electronics and consumer electronics. Typical parts include modular switches, MCB and RCCB housings, plug tops, extension boards, meter boxes, inverter and UPS housings, chargers, solar junction boxes and remote controls, where flame retardancy and dimensional accuracy around live parts are safety requirements.
Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for electrical and electronics products in India. The Mumbai-based company has 35+ years of experience and has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, offering horizontal, two-platen, hybrid and vertical machines for switchgear, power electronics and device housings, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.
The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Most electrical parts are moulded in flame-retardant grades of PC, PC/ABS, PA66 and PBT that must meet UL94 V-0 and glow-wire tests at the moulded wall thickness, not only in the pellet data. Overheating in the barrel degrades the flame-retardant package, so stable melt temperature and short residence time are as important as tonnage.

Recommended Machines for Electrical & Electronics Components
Small and medium parts such as MCB and RCCB housings, sockets, cable ties, circuit protection parts, solar connectors and knobs suit the E Series (75-180 T). Enclosures, extension boards, stabiliser, router and set-top box housings and DB enclosures may need the H Series, while larger meter boxes, inverter bodies and UPS housings suit the PHM Series two-platen machines, subject to size. Precision parts such as modular switches, chargers, phone housings, wearables and electronic connectors suit the Hybrid machines, and plug tops with brass pin inserts suit the Vertical machines. BMC and DMC thermoset parts and two-shot remote housings are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
The answers our engineers give most often about moulding electrical and electronics components.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for MCB, RCCB and Switch Parts?
MCB and RCCB housings, circuit protection parts and switch components are small precision parts, often in glass-filled PA66 or PBT. A machine is selected by projected area, cavities, shot weight and material. Housings usually run on E Series machines, while modular switch parts that need tight, repeatable dimensions suit Hybrid machines. Can Pratishna Machines Produce Inverter, UPS and Meter Box Housings?
Yes. Stabiliser housings suit H Series machines, and larger inverter bodies, UPS housings and electricity meter boxes suit PHM Series two-platen machines up to 350 tons, subject to the part size. Their vent slot patterns and large flat areas, not part weight, set the tonnage. What Plastic Materials Are Used for Electrical and Electronics Parts?
Common materials include FR PC, PC/ABS and FR ABS for housings, glass-filled PA66, PBT and PA46 for switchgear and connectors, PPO/PPE for solar junction boxes and connectors, LCP for fine-pitch electronic connectors, and BMC or DMC polyester thermosets for insulating parts.Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Extension Boards and Electrical Enclosures?
It depends on part length, wall thickness and projected area. Extension boards, electrical enclosures, smart meter enclosures and DB enclosures usually need H Series machines. Sealing-face flatness decides the IP rating of enclosures, so warp control is part of the selection.
Can These Machines Produce Plug Tops and Sockets with Brass Inserts?
Yes. Plug tops with brass pins suit Vertical machines, where the pins are loaded into the lower mould half and held by gravity. Socket bodies and inserts without moulded-in metal can run on horizontal machines. Can Pratishna Machines Mould BMC and DMC Thermoset Parts?
BMC and DMC parts need a thermoset process with a cool barrel, a hot mould and a stuffer feed, which is different from thermoplastic moulding. These parts, including BMC insulators and cooker handles, are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine based on the part and compound.Which Pratishna Series Suits Electrical & Electronics Applications?
The E Series (75-180 T) suits most small parts, the H Series covers enclosures and housings, and the PHM Series (160-350 T) covers large meter, inverter and UPS housings. Hybrid machines suit precision switch and electronics parts, Vertical machines suit insert-moulded plug tops, and thermoset or two-shot parts are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine. How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Electrical or Electronics Part?
