Injection Moulding Machines for Electrical Building Products
Pratishna Engineers makes horizontal injection moulding machines extensively used for producing plastic electrical products for residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Typical parts include modular switch plates, junction boxes, plug tops, terminal blocks, cable glands and distribution board covers, which must insulate, resist heat and meet the relevant BIS or IEC requirements.
Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for electrical building products in India. The Mumbai-based company has 35+ years of experience and has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, with machines for switchgear, wiring accessories and cable management parts, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.
The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Electrical parts are usually moulded in flame-retardant, high-CTI grades of PC, PA66 and PBT, often glass-filled, so the screw, barrel and temperature control should suit the material and hold stable settings for accurate fits with metal contacts.

Electrical Building Plastic Components
A range of wiring accessory, switchgear and cable management components can be manufactured on Pratishna horizontal injection moulding machines:
Electrical Conduit Fitting (bend, coupler, box)
Junction Box
Modular Switch / Socket Plate
Plug Top (2/3-pin)
MCB / Circuit-Breaker Housing
Cable Gland / Cord Grip
Cable Tie / Clip / Saddle
Terminal Block / Connector
Lamp Holder / Ceiling Rose
Wall Plug / Anchor / Fastener
PVC Trunking / Raceway & Accessories
Distribution Board Enclosure / Cover
Switch / Socket Internal Contact Carrier
Recommended Machines for Electrical Building Components
Most electrical building parts are small to medium components suited to the E Series (75-180 T). Cable ties, wall plugs, contact carriers and terminal blocks are usually run in multi-cavity moulds, while larger parts such as distribution board enclosures and covers may need the H Series. The right series depends on projected area, cavities, material and output.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
The answers our engineers give most often about moulding electrical building products.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for Switch Plates and Socket Plates?
Modular switch and socket plates are small to medium parts, often moulded in two or more cavities. A machine is selected by projected area, cavities, shot weight and material, and is usually in the E Series range. Face plates need polished mould cavities and stable settings for a high-gloss, flow-mark-free surface. Can Pratishna Machines Produce Junction Boxes and Conduit Fittings?
Yes. Junction boxes in ABS, PC or PVC and conduit bends, couplers and boxes in UPVC can be produced with the right clamping force, injection unit and mould configuration. UPVC fittings need a screw, barrel and temperature control suited to heat-sensitive PVC.What Plastic Materials Are Used for Electrical Building Products?
Common materials include PC and flame-retardant PC for switch plates, PA66 and PBT for terminal blocks and contact carriers, UPVC for conduit fittings and trunking accessories, and ABS for boxes and covers. Urea, phenolic and BMC/DMC parts are thermosets and use a different moulding process.Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Distribution Board Enclosures?
It depends on the enclosure size, wall thickness and projected area. Smaller covers may suit the upper E Series range, while larger distribution board enclosures usually need H Series machines.
Can These Machines Produce Plug Tops, Lamp Holders and Cable Glands?
Yes. Plug tops, lamp holders and cable glands in PC, PA66 or PBT can be moulded; the machine is selected based on the component size, material, cavities and volume. Can Pratishna Machines Process Flame-Retardant and Glass-Filled Grades?
Yes. FR-PC, glass-filled PA66 and PBT are standard for electrical parts. The screw and barrel should suit glass-filled material, nylon needs drying before moulding, and melt temperature should be held close to the grade limits to avoid degrading the flame-retardant additives.Which Pratishna Series Suits Electrical Building Products?
The E Series (75-180 T) suits most small and medium components, while the H Series covers larger parts such as distribution board enclosures and higher-cavity moulds. How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Electrical Product?
Share your product, material, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine and quotation.
