Injection Moulding Machines for Lighting Products
Pratishna Engineers makes injection moulding machines extensively used for producing plastic parts for LED lamps, luminaires and lighting accessories. Typical parts include LED bulb housings, heat-sink bodies, driver housings, lenses, reflectors, terminal blocks and B22 or E27 lamp holders, which must handle heat from the LED and driver, stay flame retardant and, for optics, transmit light without visible flaws.
Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for LED lighting products in India. Based in Mumbai, the company brings 35+ years of machine-building experience and has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, offering horizontal and hybrid machines for lamp housings, optics and lighting accessories, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.
The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Lighting parts combine thermal and optical demands: thermally conductive PC or PA compounds replace aluminium in bulb bodies, FR PC and PBT-GF are used around drivers, and optical PMMA or PC lenses need dried material, a mirror-polished mould and very stable injection to avoid flow lines and haze.

Lighting Plastic Components
A range of LED lamp, luminaire and lighting accessory components can be manufactured on Pratishna injection moulding machines:
LED Bulb Housing / Lamp Body (incl. heat-sink housing)
LED Driver Housing / Enclosure
LED Lens and Reflector
Terminal Block, Connector Strip and Luminaire Junction Box
Lamp Holder (B22 / E27), Ceiling Rose and Batten Holder
Recommended Machines for Lighting Components
LED bulb housings, driver housings, terminal blocks, junction boxes and thermoplastic lamp holders are small to medium parts suited to the E Series (75-180 T), usually in multi-cavity moulds. LED lenses and reflectors need precise, repeatable injection for optical quality and suit the Hybrid machines. Lamp holders and ceiling roses made in urea, melamine or BMC thermosets are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
The answers our engineers give most often about moulding lighting components.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for LED Bulb Housings?
LED bulb housings and heat-sink bodies are small to medium parts, usually moulded in multi-cavity tools. A machine is selected by projected area, cavities, shot weight and material, and is usually in the E Series range. Thermally conductive compounds are highly filled, so the screw and barrel should suit abrasive material. Can Pratishna Machines Produce LED Lenses and Reflectors?
Yes. Lenses and reflectors in optical PMMA or PC can be produced with dried material, a mirror-polished mould and stable, repeatable injection. Hybrid machines suit these parts because shot-to-shot consistency controls flow lines, haze and focal accuracy. What Plastic Materials Are Used for Lighting Parts?
Common materials include FR PC for bulb housings and holders, thermally conductive PC or PA for heat-sink bodies, PBT-GF, PA66-GF and PPO/PPE for driver housings and terminal blocks, optical PMMA, PC and COC for lenses, and urea, melamine or BMC for thermoset lamp holders.Which Tonnage Is Suitable for LED Driver Housings and Junction Boxes?
It depends on part size, wall thickness and cavities. Most driver housings, terminal blocks and luminaire junction boxes suit E Series machines, with the tonnage set by the number of cavities rather than part weight.
Can These Machines Produce B22 and E27 Lamp Holders?
Yes. Thermoplastic lamp holders with an FR PC outer body and a PBT inner part can run on E Series machines. Holders made in urea, melamine or BMC thermoset are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine. How Do You Mould Lighting Parts That Meet Flame-Retardant Tests?
FR PC, PBT-GF and PA66-GF must meet UL94 V-0 and glow-wire tests at the moulded wall thickness. Dry the material, keep melt temperature within the grade limits and avoid long barrel residence, since overheating weakens the flame-retardant additives.Which Pratishna Series Suits Lighting Applications?
The E Series (75-180 T) suits most lamp housings, driver housings and holders. Hybrid machines suit optical lenses and reflectors, and thermoset lamp holders are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine. How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Lighting Component?
Share your product, material, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine and quotation.
