Injection Moulding Machine Manufacturer — Andheri East, Mumbai, India

Injection-moulded furniture & hardware components

Injection Moulding Machines for Plastic Furniture & Hardware

Pratishna Engineers designs and manufactures injection moulding machines that are used to produce plastic furniture and furniture hardware for home, office and ready-to-assemble furniture makers. Typical parts include stools, small tables, drawers, storage bins, castor wheels, knobs, hinges, drawer channel parts, leg glides and knock-down fittings, ranging from large flat parts where projected area sets the tonnage to small fittings made in high-cavity moulds.

Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for plastic furniture and hardware in India. Operating from Mumbai for 35+ years, the company has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, offering horizontal and two-platen machines for furniture, storage and fitting components, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.

The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Furniture bodies are mostly PP copolymer, often talc or glass-filled for stiffness, and their large flat areas need high clamping force and even cooling to avoid warp. Hardware parts use POM, PA6 and PA66 for strength and low friction, where repeatable dimensions decide whether fittings assemble and hold load.

Recommended Machines for Furniture & Hardware Components

Small hardware such as hinges, drawer channel parts, knobs, wall plugs, caps, glides, knock-down fittings and clips suit the E Series (75-180 T), usually in multi-cavity moulds. Storage bins, crates and tote lids suit the C Series, while drawers and trolley wheels may need the H Series. Small stools, small tables and chairs have large projected areas and suit the PHM Series two-platen machines, subject to size. Castor wheels with an overmoulded TPU or TPR tread are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often about moulding furniture and hardware components.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for Plastic Stools and Tables?
Stools and small tables are large parts where the seat or table top sets the projected area and tonnage. A machine is selected by projected area, shot weight, mould size and material. Smaller stools and tables suit PHM Series two-platen machines, and larger chairs and tables should be checked against the mould size first.
  • Can Pratishna Machines Produce Drawers and Storage Bins?
Yes. Drawer boxes, trays, storage bins, crates and tote lids in PP copolymer or HDPE can be produced with the right clamping force, injection unit and mould configuration. Deep drawers are limited by core cooling, and lids and bases must be qualified together so they seal and stack.
  • What Plastic Materials Are Used for Furniture and Hardware?
Common materials include PP copolymer, talc-filled and glass-filled PP for furniture bodies, HDPE for crates and storage, POM for hinges, drawer runners and catches, PA6 and PA66 for wall plugs, anchors and brackets, and TPE, TPR or TPU for bumpers, grommets and wheel treads.
  • Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Drawers, Crates and Trolley Wheels?
It depends on part size, depth, wall thickness and cavities. Storage crates and tote lids usually run on C Series machines, while drawers and larger trolley wheels may need H Series machines.
  • Can These Machines Produce Castor Wheels, Knobs and Glides?
Yes. Castor housings, trolley wheels, knobs, handles and levelling glides in PA6, PP, POM or ABS can be moulded; the machine is selected based on part size, cavities and volume. Castor wheels with a soft tread bonded to a rigid hub are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.
  • How Do You Avoid Warp in Large Flat Furniture Parts?
Large flat parts such as seats and table tops warp if cooling is uneven. Balanced mould cooling, correct gate positions, adequate hold pressure and filled PP grades with lower shrinkage keep the part flat, while rib design gives stiffness without thick sections.
  • Which Pratishna Series Suits Furniture & Hardware Applications?
The E Series (75-180 T) suits small hardware, the C Series suits crates and storage, the H Series covers drawers and trolley wheels, and the PHM Series (160-350 T) covers stools and small tables. Two-shot wheels are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.
  • How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Furniture or Hardware Part?
