Injection Moulding Machines for Luggage & Bag Components
Pratishna Engineers designs and manufactures injection moulding machines that are used to produce plastic components for luggage, backpacks, handbags and hard cases. Typical parts include trolley handle housings and base brackets, spinner wheels, side-release buckles, lock housings, corner protectors, case latches, zip pullers and small carry cases, which are tested for load, fatigue and impact in real travel and handling conditions.
Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for luggage and bag components in India. The Mumbai-based company has 35+ years of experience and has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, with machines for trolley hardware, wheels, buckles, locks and case parts, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.
The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Load-bearing luggage parts are mostly glass-filled PA6 or PA66 and POM, chosen for fatigue life rather than a single strength figure. Nylon grows as it absorbs moisture, so latches, brackets and buckles must be gauged at conditioned dimensions, and a stable, repeatable process keeps snap-fits and wheel bearings working after thousands of cycles.

Luggage & Bags Plastic Components
A range of trolley, wheel, buckle, lock and hard case components can be manufactured on Pratishna injection moulding machines:
Trolley Component (handle housings, base brackets, rail guides, corner guards)
Luggage Wheel (spinner wheel, hub, housing and fork)
Bag Buckle (side-release buckle, ladder lock, strap adjuster)
Zipper Slider
Moulded Zipper Chain / Tooth Element (VISLON type)
Trolley Handle Grip and End Cap (soft-touch)
Luggage Lock Housing (TSA lock body, dial and shackle housing)
Bag Feet, Corner Protectors and Studs
Cord Lock, Toggle and Webbing Hardware
Case Latch, Hinge and Catch (hard case)
Small Carry Case / Tool Case Body with Living Hinge
Zip Pull Tab, Puller and Branded Trim
Recommended Machines for Luggage & Bag Components
Buckles, zipper sliders, lock housings, bag feet, corner protectors, cord locks, case latches, zip pullers and most trolley parts are small to medium components suited to the E Series (75-180 T), usually in multi-cavity moulds. Small carry cases and tool case bodies with a living hinge, and larger trolley base brackets, may need the H Series. Spinner wheels and handle grips with a soft TPE or TPU overmould, and moulded zipper chain, are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
The answers our engineers give most often about moulding luggage and bag components.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for Trolley Bag Components?
A trolley system is a set of ten to twenty mouldings, including the top grip, push-button housing, latch, rail guides, base brackets and corner guards, and it should be quoted as a set. Most parts run on E Series machines, with larger base brackets on H Series machines. The telescopic tubes are aluminium and not moulded. Can Pratishna Machines Produce Luggage Spinner Wheels?
Yes. Wheel hubs, housings and forks in PA6-GF, PA66-GF, PC/ABS or POM run on E Series machines. Quiet-rolling wheels with a soft TPR or TPU tread bonded to a rigid hub are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine, or moulded as two parts and assembled. What Plastic Materials Are Used for Luggage and Bag Parts?
Common materials include PA6-GF and PA66-GF for brackets, wheels and latches, POM for buckles, sliders, lock dials and cord locks, ABS and PC/ABS for housings and trims, PP copolymer for living-hinge cases, and TPE or TPU for grips, treads and corner protectors.Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Carry Cases and Tool Cases?
It depends on case size, wall thickness and projected area. Small carry cases, vanity cases and tool cases usually need H Series machines, and larger cases should be checked against the mould size first. The living hinge must be gated so the melt flows across it.
Can These Machines Produce Bag Buckles and Zipper Sliders?
Yes. Side-release buckles, ladder locks and strap adjusters in POM or nylon run on E Series machines in high-cavity moulds, and are accepted on cycle and webbing pull tests. Plastic zipper sliders are used for corrosion-free and lightweight bags, while most sliders are die-cast zinc. How Do You Mould Luggage Parts That Pass Fatigue and Impact Tests?
Use glass-filled nylon or POM grades suited to the load, place gates so fibre orientation supports the load path, and dry nylon before moulding. Corner protectors and feet need good low-temperature impact strength, and any resin or regrind change should be retested.Which Pratishna Series Suits Luggage & Bags Applications?
The E Series (75-180 T) suits most luggage hardware, the H Series covers carry cases and larger trolley parts, and two-shot wheels, grips and moulded zipper chain are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine. How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Luggage Component?
Share your product, material, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine and quotation.
