Injection Moulding Machines for Material Handling Products
Injection moulding machines from Pratishna Engineers are widely used in manufacturing plastic material handling products for warehouses, factories, dairies, agriculture and retail logistics. Typical parts include stackable crates, storage and picking bins, milk crates, crate lids, dunnage trays, trolley wheels, pallet feet and foldable crate hinges, which must stack, nest and carry load through years of handling and washing.
Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for material handling products in India. Based in Mumbai, the company brings 35+ years of machine-building experience and has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, offering container and two-platen machines for crates, bins, trays and handling hardware, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.
The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Crates and bins are large parts in PP copolymer or HDPE with 2.5 to 5 mm walls, deep moulds and heavily ribbed or perforated sides, so the machine needs a clamp, shot capacity and opening stroke matched to each other. Lids and bodies must shrink alike to seal and stack, and hinges and handles are judged on fatigue over thousands of cycles.

Material Handling Plastic Components
A range of crate, bin, tray, wheel and handling hardware components can be manufactured on Pratishna injection moulding machines:
Plastic Crate (small stackable crate, 10–40 L)
Plastic Bin (small parts and storage bin)
Milk Crate
Small Picking / Louvre Bin (up to about 10 L)
Crate and Bin Lid (up to about 400 × 300 mm)
Crate Label Holder, Card Holder and Bin Divider
Castor and Trolley Wheel for Bins and Dollies
Pallet Foot, Runner Insert and Anti-slip Pad
Foldable Crate Hinge, Latch and Locking Clip
Component Tray and Dunnage Tray (small)
Container Handle, Grip and Drop-down Handle
Bulk Container and IBC Accessory Parts (corner guard, lid latch, drain fitting)
Recommended Machines for Material Handling Components
Picking bins, louvre bins, small storage bins, crate lids and dunnage trays suit the C Series (140-320 T), built for container making. Label holders, dividers, pallet feet, hinges, latches, handles and IBC fittings are small parts suited to the E Series in multi-cavity moulds. Stackable crates, larger bins and milk crates need higher clamping force and a long opening stroke, and suit the PHM Series two-platen machines, subject to crate size. Trolley wheels with an overmoulded TPU or TPR tread are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine.

FAQs / Buyer Questions
The answers our engineers give most often about moulding material handling products.
Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for Plastic Crates?
Crates are selected by volume, projected area, wall thickness, shot weight and mould height. Smaller stackable crates suit PHM Series two-platen machines up to 350 tons, while larger logistics crates and heavy-duty milk crates can need 450 to 650 tons and should be checked against the mould size first. Can Pratishna Machines Produce Storage Bins and Picking Bins?
Yes. Small parts bins, storage bins and louvre bins up to about 10 litres in PP copolymer or HDPE run on C Series machines. The open front lip and hanging hooks need consistent shrinkage so bins sit straight on the louvre panel. What Plastic Materials Are Used for Material Handling Products?
Common materials include PP copolymer and HDPE for crates, bins and lids, food-grade HDPE for milk and food crates, recycled PP or HDPE blends where approved, FR PP for some bins, conductive or ESD PP for electronics dunnage, PA6-GF and POM for hinges and latches, and TPU or TPR for wheel treads and anti-slip pads.Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Crate Lids and Dunnage Trays?
It depends on lid or tray size and projected area. A lid is a large flat area and can need as much tonnage as the crate body. Lids up to about 400 × 300 mm and small component trays usually run on C Series machines.
Can These Machines Produce Trolley Wheels, Hinges and Handles?
Yes. Wheel hubs, foldable crate hinges, latches, locking clips and drop-down handles in PA6, PA6-GF, POM or PP run on E Series machines. Wheels with a soft tread bonded to a rigid hub are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine. How Do You Keep Crates Stackable and Free of Warp?
Use balanced mould cooling, correct gate positions and adequate hold pressure, and rib long unsupported edges instead of thickening them. Lids and bodies should be qualified as a pair, and nesting and stacking must both be checked on the first moulded parts.Which Pratishna Series Suits Material Handling Applications?
The C Series (140-320 T) suits bins, lids and trays, the E Series suits small hardware, and the PHM Series (160-350 T) covers crates and larger bins, subject to size. Two-shot wheels are evaluated for a Special Purpose machine. How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Material Handling Product?
