Injection-moulded pumps & valves components

Injection Moulding Machines for Pump & Valve Components

Pratishna Engineers designs and manufactures injection moulding machines that are used to produce plastic components for water pumps, chemical pumps, industrial valves and fluid-handling equipment. Typical parts include impellers, diffusers, volutes and motor housings, valve bodies, ball valve balls and stems, foot valve parts, diaphragm pump heads, strainer baskets, solenoid valve bobbins and pipe connectors, which carry pressure, run wet for years and must hold flow-path geometry.

Pratishna Engineers is one of the top and trusted injection moulding machine manufacturers for pump and valve components in India. Based in Mumbai, the company brings 35+ years of machine-building experience and has supplied 9,000+ machines to 1,000+ customers, offering horizontal and hybrid machines for impellers, housings, valve parts and fittings, backed by in-house engineering and after-sales support.

The right machine depends on the component, plastic material, part weight, mould size, number of cavities and production volume. Pump and valve parts use engineering grades such as PPS-GF, modified PPE, PA66-GF and PVDF for heat, hydrolysis and chemical resistance, and UPVC or CPVC for many valve bodies and fittings. Uniform walls and clean internal surfaces decide burst strength, while impeller vane geometry and balance depend on repeatable shrinkage.

Pump & Valve Plastic Components

A range of pump, valve, filter and fluid-handling components can be manufactured on Pratishna injection moulding machines:

  • Pump Impeller

  • Diffuser (stationary vane ring / cross-over diffuser)

  • Pump Housing (volute, casing, motor housing and split case)

  • Valve Body

  • Ball Valve Ball, Seat Carrier and Stem

  • Valve Handle, Lever and Actuator Cover

  • Non-return, Check and Foot Valve Components

  • Diaphragm Pump Head, Manifold and Valve Plate

  • Mechanical Seal Carrier, Wear Ring and Bearing Housing

  • Strainer Basket, Filter Housing and Sight Bowl

  • Solenoid Valve Bobbin, Body and Plunger Guide

  • Pump Connector, Union, Adaptor and Pipe Fitting

Recommended Machines for Pump & Valve Components

Valve handles and levers, ball valve balls and stems, check and foot valve parts, pump connectors and unions are small to medium parts suited to the E Series (75-180 T). Pump housings, valve bodies, diaphragm pump heads and strainer and filter housings have larger projected areas and may need the H Series. Impellers, diffusers, seal carriers, wear rings and solenoid bobbins need close, repeatable dimensions and suit the Hybrid machines. UPVC and CPVC parts need a PVC-specification screw and barrel.

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often about moulding pump and valve components.

  • Which Injection Moulding Machine Is Used for Pump Impellers?
Impellers of 4 and 6 inch class are routinely moulded in modified PPE, POM, PC or PPS-GF. Vane profile, hub concentricity and balance depend on stable shrinkage, so Hybrid machines suit these parts for repeatable injection. Diffusers for multistage and submersible pumps follow the same rules.
  • Can Pratishna Machines Produce Pump Housings and Volutes?
Yes. Volutes, casings, motor housings and split cases in PPS-GF, PPA-GF, PA66-GF or PP can be produced on H Series machines. Moulded plastic housings cost less than die-cast ones and give complex volute shapes more reliably, but wall uniformity must be controlled for pressure.
  • What Plastic Materials Are Used for Pump and Valve Parts?
Common materials include PPS-GF and PPA-GF for hot water and pressure parts, modified PPE for impellers, PA66-GF for housings and handles, PVDF for chemical service, UPVC and CPVC for valve bodies and fittings, POM for balls, stems and wear parts, PBT-GF for solenoid bobbins and TPE for check valve flaps.
  • Which Tonnage Is Suitable for Valve Bodies and Filter Housings?
It depends on body size, wall thickness and core arrangement. Smaller valve bodies may suit the upper E Series range, while larger bodies, strainer baskets, filter housings and sight bowls usually need H Series machines. The ball and stem of the same valve run on a much smaller machine than the body.
  • Can These Machines Produce Foot Valves and Check Valves?
Yes. Foot valve and check valve bodies, seats and poppets in PP, POM or PA66-GF run on E Series machines. Cracking pressure and reseal depend on a flat moulded seat and a flap or poppet with consistent stiffness.
  • How Do You Mould UPVC and CPVC Valve Parts?
UPVC and CPVC have a narrow processing window of about 170 to 190 degrees C and degrade if overheated, releasing corrosive gases. They need a PVC-specification screw and barrel, a nozzle without dead spots, close heater control and longer hold times, so the cycle is cooling limited.
  • Which Pratishna Series Suits Pump & Valve Applications?
The E Series (75-180 T) suits small valve parts and fittings, the H Series covers pump housings, valve bodies and filter housings, and Hybrid machines suit impellers, diffusers, seal carriers and solenoid bobbins.
  • How Do I Get a Machine Recommendation for My Pump or Valve Component?
Share your product, material, part weight, mould dimensions, cavities, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will recommend a suitable machine and quotation.
