What Can Be Customised on the 120 Ton

The 120 Ton custom injection moulding machine has no fixed specification. The base platform, screw, clamp settings and options are agreed with the customer after reviewing the component, mould, material, cycle and output targets. Any of these areas can be adapted:

  • Clamp: mould mounting, opening stroke, core-pull and unscrewing circuits
  • Injection unit: screw and barrel for the material and shot size
  • Mould handling: insert loading, shuttle or rotary working
  • Controls: sequences, interlocks and process monitoring for the application
  • Automation: part removal, sorting, checking or simple assembly

Key Features

  • Built on a proven 120 ton clamping and injection platform, adapted to one application
  • Clamp and mould area adapted for the mould layout, inserts, core pulls or unscrewing
  • Injection unit and screw configured for the material and shot
  • Integrated robot, sorting and in-line checking for complete moulding cells
  • Controls and interlocks set up for the application sequence
  • Automation for part removal, sorting, checking or simple assembly where the application justifies it

Applications

The 120 Ton custom machine is used for medium parts and for moulding cells where handling, checking or simple assembly is built around the machine.

  • Medium insert-moulded and overmoulded components

  • Moulding cells with robotic part removal and sorting

  • Parts needing in-line checking or simple assembly

  • Two-material components, evaluated per application

  • Thermoset parts such as BMC and DMC, evaluated per application

  • Engineering-plastic parts needing close process control

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often about the 120 Ton custom machine, before a specification is agreed.

  • What Is the 120 Ton Custom Injection Moulding Machine?
It is the largest platform in the custom range, for medium components and moulding cells with built-in automation. The base clamp and injection unit are proven designs, while the mould handling, controls, feed or automation are engineered for one application.
  • What Can I Manufacture on a 120 Ton Custom Machine?
Typical work includes medium insert-moulded and overmoulded components, moulding cells with robotic part removal and sorting, and parts needing in-line checking or simple assembly. Two-material and thermoset parts are evaluated per application.
  • How Do I Know if 120 Ton Is Enough for My Part?
Required clamping force depends on the projected area, injection pressure, material and cavities, with a safety factor. On a custom machine, the mould size, inserts and any second station or automation also decide the platform. Share your part and mould details and Pratishna Engineers will confirm whether the 120 Ton platform is suitable.
  • Why Is There No Standard Specification for the 120 Ton?
Because each custom machine is configured for one application. Screw size, shot, stroke, mould space and options are agreed after reviewing your component, mould and process, and are stated in the quotation and machine specification.
  • What Can Be Customised on the 120 Ton?
The clamp and mould area, the injection unit and screw, insert loading and shuttle or rotary working, the control sequence and interlocks, and automation such as part removal, sorting, checking or simple assembly.
  • Can Pratishna Build the Machine Around My Existing Mould?
Often yes. Share the mould drawing, dimensions, height, ejection and any core-pull or insert requirements, and Pratishna Engineers will check whether the machine can be built around it.
  • If 120 Ton Is Not the Right Size, What Other Options Are There?
The custom range also includes 75 Ton and 100 Ton platforms. If a standard machine suits the part, the E, C and H Series horizontal machines or the PV and PVDL vertical machines may be the better answer, and Pratishna Engineers will advise which fits.
  • Does Pratishna Provide Installation and After-Sales Support?
Yes. Installation, commissioning, operator training, spare parts and after-sales technical support are provided as part of Pratishna’s machine lifecycle services.
  • How Do I Get a Price for the 120 Ton Custom Machine?
There is no fixed price, because each machine is configured for one application. Share your part drawing or sample, material, part weight, mould details, inserts or secondary operations, production quantity, cycle target and the process problem to solve, and Pratishna Engineers will evaluate the application and provide a quotation.
