Key Features

  • Hydro-mechanical locking with balanced clamping force across the mould face, which reduces corner flash on large parts
  • Clamping stroke of 1150 mm and 1400 mm daylight opening for deep moulds 250 to 700 mm thick
  • Two screw options: the 65 mm screw reaches 1,642 kg/cm² and the 70 mm screw gives shots up to 969 g (PS)
  • Tie-bar space of 640 × 640 mm and platens of 1080 × 1128 mm
  • Hydraulic ejector with 200 mm stroke and 9.5 tons force
  • Servo-driven pump of 36.1 kW and much less oil than a ram or direct-lock machine
  • Moving platen on a linear motion guide, and Vignan SV 84 controller with 150 mould programs

FAQs / Buyer Questions

The answers our engineers give most often about the PHM 250 Ton, before a specification is agreed.

  • What Is the PHM 250 Ton Two Platen Injection Moulding Machine?
It is a hydro-mechanical two platen injection moulding machine from Pratishna Engineers, built for large crates, dustbins, stools, battery containers and appliance housings.
  • What Can I Manufacture on a 250 Ton Two Platen Machine?
Typical parts include large crates, dustbins and waste bins, plastic stools, battery containers and appliance housings and panels.
  • Why Choose a Two Platen Machine Instead of a Toggle Machine at 250 Tons?
The PHM 250 Ton opens 1150 mm with 1400 mm daylight, so deep parts such as buckets and bins can be released, while the machine stays shorter than a toggle machine of similar tonnage. Clamping force is applied at the tie bars, which keeps large flat moulds closed evenly.
  • What Are the Screw Options on the PHM 250 Ton?
The 250 Ton is available with two screws: the 65 mm screw gives an 836 g shot at up to 1,642 kg/cm² and 325 cc/sec; the 70 mm screw gives a 969 g shot at up to 1,416 kg/cm² and 377 cc/sec. Clamping, ejector and general specifications are common to both.
  • What Mould Size Fits the PHM 250 Ton?
It takes moulds 250 to 700 mm thick within a tie-bar space of 640 × 640 mm, on platens of 1080 × 1128 mm, with a 1150 mm stroke and 200 mm ejector stroke.
  • Can the Clamping Force or Opening Stroke Be Increased?
Yes. Clamp force and opening stroke can be increased on demand for applications that need more than the standard specification, subject to evaluation of the mould and part.
  • If 250 Ton Is Not the Right Size, What Other Options Are There?
The PHM Series also offers 160 Ton, 200 Ton and 350 Ton models. Smaller parts can move to the H or C Series horizontal machines.
  • Does Pratishna Provide Installation and After-Sales Support?
Yes. Installation, commissioning, operator training, spare parts and after-sales technical support are provided as part of Pratishna’s machine lifecycle services.
  • How Do I Get a Price for the PHM 250 Ton?
Share your product drawing, material, part weight, mould dimensions and height, cavities, production quantity and cycle time, and Pratishna Engineers will evaluate the configuration and provide a quotation.
